Mosaic-Inspired Portrait of St. Mark

Size: 42 ft x 15 ft

This mural is a hand-painted adaptation of a historic mosaic of St. Mark, honoring the school's namesake. Inspired by an actual Byzantine-era artifact, the mural preserves the original's rich symbolism—most notably the stylized facial features, golden halo, and sacred lettering ("MAP" and "KOC" from Greek for "Markos"). The surrounding abstract rectangles, painted in glowing yellows, blues, and warm tones, echo stained glass and divine radiance.

Three Saints of Faith and Service

Size: 107 ft x 25 ft

This expansive mural honors Blessed Miguel Pro, Blessed Marie Rose Durocher, and Saint Candidus

each portrayed in moments of faith, sacrifice, and spiritual leadership.

  • Blessed Miguel Pro appears mid-motion with arms extended in surrender and trust, under a banner reading Viva Cristo Rey—a tribute to his martyrdom during Mexico’s Cristero War.

  • Blessed Marie Rose Durocher is shown seated among children, reflecting her role as an educator and founder of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary.

  • Saint Candidus, a Roman soldier and Christian martyr, is depicted in full armor, symbolizing bravery and protection of the faithful.

The background of heavenly clouds and radiant color blocks gives the mural a sense of elevation and continuity with the school’s mission of nurturing both the mind and spirit.
